Titanium Carbide (TiC) Hardfacing Grit Description:

Hardfacing coatings are mainly applied on the surface of new components or worn parts to increase machinery lifespan in various industries such as construction and agriculture. Hardfacing commonly employs metal matrix composites (MMCs) as coatings and uses hard particles like tungsten carbide to reinforce the coating. Tungsten carbide is extensively utilized in tribological environments thanks to its excellent resistance to abrasion and wear. Nevertheless, when the temperature is over 550 degrees Celsius, tungsten carbide composites are not the ideal choice because it is poorly oxidation-resistant as the temperature rises.

Instead, we can choose Titanium Carbide (TiC) as the reinforcement for MMCs due to its exceptional characteristics such as high hardness, relatively low density, excellent oxidation resistance, and superior wear resistance in erosion and abrasion conditions.

KoneCarbide offers high-quality low-density Titanium Carbide hardfacing grits that are perfect for surface treatments, greatly enhancing the service life of your equipment and reducing downtime. Contact us today and request a quote for further information (MOQ, price, delivery, payment, and more).
